I Have Been Testing My Clients Pee!
Ok, you heard it here first. I have been asking my clients to bring me samples of their urine!
The first batch of tests I completed have show some awful results.
I have been testing PH levels and hydration.
Everyone’s urine I have tested is ACIDIC.
I will tell you more about why that is so energy sapping next week.
Everyone, except one lady was dehydrated, one person was dangerously so!
So you have heard it all before drink more water. Boring I know.
WHY?
Basically your blood(your biggest organ) is mostly water, so if your dehydrated your blood cant do its job properly – GIVE YOU ENERGY.
Who doesn’t want a bit more energy?
If you have half a brain please dink more fluids and eat lots of high water content fruit such as, melons, grapes, kiwis and oranges.
Read below to see if you are dehydrated.
The best time to check is your first pee of the day after waking up(your body is in equilibrium then). If its dark, thats bad if its clear thats good. If its somewhere in between your probably dehydrated and need more input of fluids.
The initial signs and symptoms of mild dehydration in adults appear when the body has lost about 2% of it’s total fluid. These mild dehydration symptoms are often (but not limited to):
- Thirst
- Loss of Appetite
- Dry Skin
- Skin Flushing
- Dark Coloured Urine
- Dry Mouth
- Fatigue or Weakness
- Chills
- Head Rushes
If the dehydration is allowed to continue unabated, when the total fluid loss reaches 5% the following effects of dehydration are normally experienced:
- Increased heart rate
- Increased respiration
- Decreased sweating
- Decreased urination
- Increased body temperature
- Extreme fatigue
- Muscle cramps
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Tingling of the limbs
In extreme cases when the body reaches 10% fluid loss emergency help is needed IMMEDIATELY! 10% fluid loss and above is often fatal! Symptoms of severe dehydration include:
- Muscle spasms
- Vomiting
- Racing pulse
- Shrivelled skin
- Dim vision
- Painful urination
- Confusion
- Difficulty breathing
- Seizures
- Chest and Abdominal pain
- Unconsciousness
Be aware that these are not the only symptoms of severe dehydration that may manifest in response to dehydration; these are simply the most common.
Symptoms of dehydration will differ from person to person because the body is a complex network of systems and everyone’s body is different. Dehydration prevention is the best treatment for every age group.
Go get yourself a water instead of that next cup of coffee.
Until next week,
Richard
